Quake Bioengineering Laboratory

The Quake Bioengineering Lab is part of the Department of Bioengineering located in the James H. Clarke Center at Stanford.

We designed and built a lab for Dr. Stephen Quake on the 3rd floor of the Clark Center that brings together scientists from biotechnology, physics, biology and biochemistry and structural biology. His research focuses in several areas: microfluidics (referred to as a “lab-on-a-chip” technology) and precise measurements related to DNA sequencing and human genetics, immunology and the development of new clinical diagnostics.
