Beckman Center for Molecular and Genetic Medicine Office Building Refresh

Gordon Prill was retained to provide Design-Build services totaling $2 million involved modifications to the Beckman Lobby and a refresh throughout the entire 99,297 sq. ft. building.

  • The refresh included ADA and Title 24
  • Within the Beckman Lobby, Gordon Prill replaced VCT and carpet flooring and replaced the “blue” light fixtures with more modern and dramatic fixtures.
  • For the building refresh, we painted and applied acoustical ceiling tile throughout the building we repaired the ceilings as well as replaced bumper rails and worked on the stairways. At stairway #4, we replaced the decorative metal guardrail, handrail, and all flooring. Within all the corridors, we painted walls, ceilings, doors and door frames.
  • We also painted “pink” light fixtures and Safety Shower piping throughout. In a separate $1.6 million project, we also provided design and construction services to renovate ten restroom cores totaling 7,500 sq. ft. to meet SOM design standards, ADA compliance including layout of fixtures and permit documentation.
