SPUR Annual Summer Member Event Attended by Hundreds
SPUR is really coming to its own after another great event to celebrate it's second successful year in San Jose. Director Leah Toenskoetter was host to Mayor Sam Liccardo, former Mayors McEnry and Gonzalez and a many other dignitaries and movers and shakers. Gordon Prill is a proud supporter of SPUR.

Over 70 volunteers had a great Saturday doing exterior / interior painting, landscaping, light fixture replacement and carpentry to help the Bill Wilson Center spiff up its three buildings.

From Fab to Fabulous!
This is our theme for our U.C. Santa Cruz project to turn an old chip manufacturing plant into world class university research labs. We are so excited to be awarded the architectural and engineering design contract and just started programming. This $28 million facility will eventually be brimming with researchers and their students making advances in applied materials and nanotechnology.

We are all moved in to our new office building with all tenant improvements designed by our own architects and engineers!

We were also at CSU Sacramento's Career Fair March 13 - see CSU Sacramento Career Center. Learn about opportunities for permanent jobs for graduating students. We plan to hire architectural, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and construction management graduates.
New Project Awarded to Gordon Prill
We are beginning architectural and MEP engineering design for a research laboratory on the University of California, Santa Cruz campus for the Jack Baskin School of Engineering. This project is a BSL2+ lab for bio-molecular research and involves modifications to the HVAC system, plumbing, electrical including stand-by power, data and lighting. The project will have new lab benches with utility connections including ICW, IHW, DI water, milliQ, vacuum and NG. Also included are new sinks, cabinets, refrigerators, freezers, incubators, safety showers and eyewashes will also be installed. The project will also provide a small hazardous materials safety lockers and construct a BSL-2+ area and gowning vestibule. The project will also need to address accessibility requirements and must receive DSA plan approval.
