BIM/CAD Specialist

This position provides BIM/CAD leadership and support to in-house architects, engineers and designers. It is not an architectural or designer position but rather a job requiring strong skills in working with the mechanics of BIM/CAD and requires candidates to have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with Navisworks, Revit and AutoCAD. Strong experience managing and implementing Revit and AutoCAD within in the architectural, mechanical and electrical design environment is a must. Knowledge of BIM 360 is a plus. Duties include:

  • Provide leadership and vision to the firm in the areas of BIM and CAD
  • Provide BIM/CAD support (Revit/AutoCAD) to in–house architects, engineers and designers
  • Develop, implement and enforce BIM/CAD Standards, and file organization
  • Develop and implement the firm’s transition to Revit
    • Create/modify Revit families across multiple disciplines
    • Manage and build Revit libraries
    • Develop BIM Standards including BIM Execution and Implementation Plans
    • Responsible for model coordination including clash detection and Navis works
    • Facilitate internal training
  • Organize the BIM/CAD environment
  • Knowledge of and experience working with and implementing BIM 360
  • Interact on project standards coordination with clients
  • Provide training and supervision of in-house BIM/CAD users
  • Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions
  • Manage BIM/CAD vendor licenses and installations
  • Supply technical support for all CAD/BIM software
  • Maintain BIM/CAD software inventory
  • Maintain BIM/CAD document archive and retrieval for projects
  • Primary point of contact for client BIM/CAD interface and data collection, outside reprographic services, and software licensing
  • Order & maintain print & plotter supplies
  • Customize BIM/CAD programs and pen/plotting settings
  • Manage clash detection in Navisworks, BIM Glue and BIM Track
  • Project Record Drawings and Closeout
    • Review, understand and adhere to client BIM/CAD standards
    • Collect and submit Project Closeout documentation
    • Incorporate Contractor Redlines into BIM/CAD files
    • Cleanup BIM/CAD files for project closeout
    • Finalize BIM/CAD files for project closeout
    • Submit closeout document package to Clients
    • Archive completed projects
