Business Development Manager


Responsible for the development of the business/sales relationship with potential clients and allies. The main focus of this role is to identify, understand, qualify, track and prioritize pursuit opportunities in specific target markets, develop market strategies and lead Gordon Prill’s pursuit process.

Responsibilities:

Business Development Plan

  • Develops an annual business development plan for target market sectors that meet the overall business goals and updates the plan on a regular basis to reflect progress and market changes. Works with senior management to integrate plans with service departments.

  • Understands the generic strengths and vulnerabilities of major competitors and develops sales strategies to respond effectively

Prospecting to Generate Leads

  • Establishes initial contact at the owner or facility level in potential customer organizations through various means (cold calling, social media such as LinkedIn and professional organizations) and takes ownership of interaction with prospects to identify expectations/needs and project opportunities.

  • Establishes and expands relationships within the target market sectors in order to stay up to date on trends and be informed of opportunities prior to becoming public knowledge, and strategically position Gordon Prill for responding to RFQs/RFPs.

  • Participates in trade shows and other client-related events (e.g., professional organization meetings, golf tournaments, etc., some of which may entail evening activities)

  • Prepares for each sales call sets specific call objectives and allocates part of every sales call to understanding or clarifying the customers’ business challenges.

  • Utilizes Cosential databases to input potential client contacts and opportunities and to obtain and retain project and company information for inclusion in marketing and proposal products.

Internal Participation / Communication:

  • Collaborates with other groups within the company to implement appropriate strategies to address business opportunities and overcome obstacles.

  • Ensures that the leadership team is involved within appropriate opportunities at pivotal points and is aware of significant developments.

  • Fully participates in project-specific planning meetings with leadership and the proposed project team.

  • Qualifies potential opportunities early in the sales cycle and manage the pipeline in his/her market sectors to ensure that opportunities are pursued in a timely way, across various stages of the sales cycle and that sales expectations are met.

Managing the Interview Process

  • Manages the interview process and coaches the team to ensure that all client requirements are met and that Gordon Prill is positioned as well as possible for success.

  • Takes the lead on strategizing and development of RFQ and RFP responses and presentations, working closely with key resources, and refines non-technical elements of proposals.

  • Develops sufficient technical and business knowledge to present a compelling value proposition to prospects and customers.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS degree and 10 years of experience within the A/E/C industry.

  • Solid knowledge of design and construction delivery methods. Specific experience in the commercial construction industry within our core market sectors.

  • Track-record of success in sales/business development and obtaining business opportunities.

  • Ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships with existing clients. Strong relationships at the executive level within market sectors.

  • Strong business acumen (financially and operationally). A clear understanding of the design, construction and acquisition processes within target markets.

  • Proactive and execution-oriented in his/her approach to business development. Must have a thorough knowledge of the business development process (identification, qualification, capture and bid activities). Demonstrated collaborative team leadership and team-building characteristics.

Marketing Coordinator

Senior Project Architect



Gordon Prill, Inc. is seeking a talented Project Architect with the experience and leadership skills to manage a full-service design team on complex industrial and technology projects from project inception through construction documents. This person will be part of and lead a team of in-house professionals including architects, designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and construction managers. Salary will be commensurate with educational background and project experience.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of minimum Architectural Project Management experience

  • BA or BArch

  • Licensed Architect

  • LEED accreditation highly recommended

This person will be part of a team of in-house professionals including architects, mechanical and electrical engineers and construction managers. Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of electrical engineering design experience for industrial building projects

  • BS in electrical engineering

  • A licensed engineer in California

  • LEED accreditation highly recommended

  • Strong production skills using AutoCAD mandatory

  • Experience with Revit/BIM a plus

  • Experience with SKM/Etap software a plus

Healthcare Project Superintendent


The Superintendent position involves working at the construction jobsite to facilitate proper subcontractor management in the execution of industrial, lab and high-tech construction projects, often on a fast-track basis. The work involves working with Project Managers to supervise, manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client relations, quality assurance and enforcement of safety policies.

The Superintendent will also work with other construction personnel as well as in-house design and engineering staff, the client’s EH&S representatives and city and country inspectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with in-house Architects, Engineers, Designers and Construction Personnel on multiple sized projects from $50k to $25M.

  • Facilitate, coordinate and manage all field aspects of projects:

    • Preconstruction, assist in project buy-out & scheduling

    • On-site Project set up & mobilization

    • Scheduling – Master schedules, tracking & recovery, 3-week rolling

    • Conduct regularly scheduled subcontractor coordination & safety meetings

    • Jobsite Safety / Risk Mitigation / Job Hazard Analysis

    • Daily Logs & maintenance of all field documents

    • Maintain current & accurate as-builts

    • Implement on-site QA/QC Program

    • Coordinate all subcontractor trades

    • Owner vendors & contractors

Healthcare Construction Project Manager


Responsibilities:

  • Manages the project closeout process with a successful completion

  • Forecasts costs throughout lifespan of the project

  • Prepares and updates Pre-construction and Construction Master Schedules

  • Leads the Constructability Review process during each phase of the design process

  • Manages project, costs, schedule, and billings

Construction Project Manager


This is an immediate opening for a Construction Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience and requires U.S. citizenship. The Construction Project Manager will oversee both on and off-site functions while maintaining direct contact with clients and sub-contractors.

The Construction Project Manager will oversee the construction process from pre-construction through the final walk-through and occupation. This person will work closely with other construction personnel as well as Gordon Prill’s in-house architecture and engineering staff to facilitate proper management of commercial, industrial, lab and high-tech construction projects, often on a fast-track basis.

The work involves subcontractor coordination, contract management, construction scheduling, client relations, quality assurance and enforcement of safety policies. Requires knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project capability of managing on-site field activities.

Duties Include:

  • Work with in-house architects, engineers, designers and construction personnel (estimators, superintendents & safety manager)

  • Effectively communicate and negotiate with clients and sub-contractors.
